Why Zoek.

Hailing from a family of artists, musicians, writers and painters, creativity was a way of life for Swarnab & Sorav while growing up at the cultural capital of India lovingly known as Calcutta (Now, Kolkata). Both are deeply passionate to experiment with Indian Renaissance and the Bengal school of art in the context of post modernism.

The desire to express personal emotions, the dream to shape our unique artistic voice led to the foundation ‘Zoek’ in 2014 named after Swarnab’s daughter Zoe Kirtana meaning ‘Life’ in Greek and ‘Divine Music’ in Sanskrit.

Zoek provides contemporary, experimental visual arts and design solutions for the highest creative visual needs of our time and beyond for commercial work and fine arts. Emerging as a modern Artspace and Collective to inspire the future school of design thoughts and visual ideas. Providing time and space to create a legacy of  original commercial & fine arts based on personal experiences, limitless dreams and emotionalism. Zoek supports emerging and contemporary photography theory & practices leading to the infinite possibility of fine arts.

Raised in the south of Kolkata, Swarnab & Sourav was drawn to spending as much time as possible in nature. Our photos and films use natural light as a nostalgia to a time spent under the sun & the stars and cinematic surreal lights to blur the difference between reality and fiction.
